About banking by phone changes

  • Banking by phone is now faster, simpler, and easier to navigate. Connect to a Popular Bank team member more quickly, move through menus with ease, and get to the right service when you call. During this transition, you may experience longer call times. You’ll also complete a quick one-time setup, including creating a new PIN.

  • We’re making banking by phone clearer and more convenient. You’ll have easy, 24/7 access to your accounts, with the security you’ve come to trust.

  • You can start using the new service on May 19, 2026. For business banking customers, the new service begins May 26, 2026.

Account access and security

  • The first time you call, you’ll verify your identity using your account number and other identifying information. You’ll then set up a new 10-digit Access Number and a 6-digit PIN for future calls.

  • The new service uses enhanced security and a new authentication method, so previous credentials can’t be carried over. You’ll create a new 10-digit Access Number and 6-digit PIN as a one-time setup to securely access banking by phone moving forward.

  • You can create or change your PIN when you’re prompted during the banking by phone process. For security, your PIN should be different from your debit card PIN.

  • When you sign in, you may notice improvements that make the experience easier and more secure. Your account number and personal information remain fully protected.
    The updated authentication method also complies with industry security standards, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

  • If you’re unsure which option to choose, you can press “0” at any time to connect with a team member.
