About Popular Foundation.

Founded in 2004, Popular Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of Popular Bank. Funded through employee contributions, the Foundation is dedicated to strengthening the social and economic well-being of the communities we serve.

How to qualify.

The Popular Foundation supports registered, non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)3, charitable organizations that meet the below criteria.

  • Provide opportunities for Popular Foundation employees to volunteer in a meaningful way
  • Deliver services that will economically empower individuals within our communities
  • Represent models in non-traditional learning environments and are directly engaged in providing programs within our communities
  • Demonstrate program sustainability
  • Are nondiscriminatory in their policies and practices with regards to physical abilities, gender, race, age, sexual orientation, ethnic origin and/or creed

Apply for a grant.

Our grant submission window runs from August 1 to August 31. All applications must be submitted through our online portal. Employee liaisons may not complete the application form for an applying organization.

    Provide all of the required information for your grant application. Please refer to our Grant Guidelines to ensure all necessary information is included.
  • Retain a copy of your application.
    Please print or download a copy of your completed application to retain for your records.

Who is eligible?

We will consider all proposals, but, given the limited nature of funds, priority will be given to organizations that align with our grantmaking focus, offer volunteer opportunities, and demonstrate a commitment to sustainable business practices.

Popular Foundation cannot fund:

  • One-time fundraising events and sponsorships
  • Production of any marketing materials
  • Capital expenditures (building or land acquisitions)
  • Grants for individuals
  • Religious and political causes
